What does an IELTS Trial Test include?

Trial Tests: Trial Tests allow test takers to get valuable practice on the Listening, Reading, and Writing sections of the IELTS test.

Fast results: It takes only ten days to receive IELTS on Computer Trial Test results, allowing test takers to quickly assess their level and work on ways to improve.

What sections are covered?

The IELTS Trial Test covers the Listening, Reading, and Writing sections of the IELTS test.

Who can take the test?

Test takers who have a band score of 4 or higher can take the IELTS Trial Test. Test takers who have not yet taken an IELTS test must have A2 (Elementary) English to take the Trial Test. Not sure what level you are at? Take a Cambridge test to determine your current level.

How long does the Trial Test take?

The total test (Listening, Reading, Writing) takes about 3 hours.

Where do I take the IELTS Trial Test?

The IELTS Trial Test are sat at participating English Testing Canada centres. 

How much does it cost?

$30 CAD for a limited time.

What kind of result will I get?

Test takers will get a raw score plus an indicative band score (e.g., between 6 to 7).

When will I get the results?

Results for IELTS Trial Test on computer will be available within 14 days.
Results for IELTS Trial Test on paper will be available as follows:

  • Listening and Reading scores are returned within 3 weeks of being returned to Cambridge English

  • Writing scores are returned within 4 weeks of being returned to Cambridge English

Are the results an official IELTS score?

An IELTS Trial Test is not an official IELTS score. It is to determine test takers' approximate level, and help prepare for the official IELTS test.

How will I get the results?

Your results will be sent to you via email.
